Aspiring Avalanche Dogs

We provide highly trained dog teams who can be rapidly deployed around the clock to help locate skiers, snowboarders and mountaineers unlucky enough to be caught in an avalanche in the Southern Lakes Region and beyond. All our dog teams are volunteers.

Chained Dog Rehabilitation and Rehoming NZ

We are fighting to end the life-chaining of dogs in New Zealand. We specialise in working with Life Chained Dogs, and have gained many years of experience and expertise in this area. We educate owners, provide rehabilitative care to any dogs relinquished so they may live a happy and fulfilling life and advocate for law change in all aspects of animal welfare.
We rescue Chihuahuas from situations of neglect and abuse and place them in suitable foster care arrangements and/or permanent homes. We also collect and re-home Chihuahuas which are unclaimed and due to be euthanised from Council Pounds.
Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue provides temporary shelter, food, medical attention, and comfort to neglected and rejected dogs. We seek out new homes for these dogs and try to educate the public about the humane care of dogs. We consider the unique needs of all the dogs in our care and work compassionately to prepare a safe, appropriately socialised dog for a wonderful new life.
We rescue unclaimed dogs picked up by Dunedin Council’s animal welfare staff, provides veterinary care (including desexing), food and home-based foster care and advertises them until they find their “forever homes”.
Dogwatch is a rescue and rehoming centre for abandoned pound dogs. Each of our dogs are assessed and matched to homes through a very through adoption process.

HURRAH Humane Rescue Rehabilitation and Rehoming Charitable Trust
We are an independent, north Auckland based charity run solely by volunteers. We rescue dogs with a proven temperament from euthanasia at council and privately-operated pounds, prevent unwanted pregnancies through desexing initiatives and educate owners on the importance of removing their dog from a life on the chain.

We are a non profit organisation that rehomes cats/dogs and horses. We deal with a lot of welfare requests and will help with any species where possible. We are located the Waikato region, however will help around NZ where possible.
We educate and support the residents of Ruakaka, Bream Bay and Whangarei to promote responsible dog ownership to our local community and find appropriate permanent homes for unwanted dogs handed in or relinquished to us.

We campaign to help dogs at a legislative level. We have been successful in bringing about a ban on cosmetic testing on animals in New Zealand, where typically dogs would have been amongst them. We also contributed to the campaign that closed the Valley Research beagle breeding facility as well as to the campaign to ban psychoactive drug testing on dogs.
